When to stream
Going live at the busiest hour is not the same as going live at the best hour. Viewers and streamers both peak together, so the question worth asking is when the audience is largest per streamer competing for it — and that is not the same moment.
Across every category
Most room so far around 5pm UTC — 52 viewers per streamer.

13 of 24 hours measured over 1 day. The rest fill in as they are seen. Counts ignore each category’s biggest stream, so one star can’t make an empty hour look busy. Times in UTC until your clock loads.
How this is measured
- Every fifteen minutes we count the live streams and viewers in every category on Twitch, and file each reading under its hour.
- The number behind each bar is viewers per streamer with the biggest stream removed. Without that, one huge broadcast makes a category look wide open when in fact a single person holds the whole room.
- Bars are relative to the category’s own average, not to other categories. A 1.4x hour means more room than that category usually has.
- Each hour appears once it has been measured more than once, with the number of readings behind it shown on hover. Thin hours are labelled rather than hidden.
Tracking started 4 September 2026. So far we have 14 of 24 hours covered across 1 day. Weekday patterns need a few weeks, and seasonal ones a good deal longer — they fill in on their own.
